Who We Are

The Enterprise Consortium of the Gulf Coast Women's Business Center is a non-profit organization that empowers aspiring and existing entrepreneurs through guidance, resources and support to achieve success in establishing small businesses.  In October 2007, the Enterprise Consortium of the Gulf Coast, a 501(c)(3) organization in Lafayette, Louisiana, was awarded a grant from the Small Business Administration to provide counseling and training services to women entrepreneurs.

The ECGC Women's Business Center is committed to serving entrepreneurs and small businesses through business counseling, industry-related workshops and technical assistance. Our center is open to both men and women interested in starting or expanding their business.

The ECGC Women's Business Center is available to help men and women start and grow a business and generate economic growth for the region. The WBC serves as the premier source for information and access to resources facilitating self-discovery and personal development and providing a mentoring process to support, nurture and advocate the development of their business.

Our services include start-up assistance and nurturing, business consultation and training, access to financing, networking opportunities, referrals to other resources and a network of contacts.

The ECGC WBC serves entrepreneurs in eight (8) parishes in South Louisiana -- Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion. Our services are open to all members of the community regardless of sex, race, religion, political affiliation, ability to pay, or background.

Our Mission

The mission of the ECGC Women's Business Center is to:   

• Create jobs, generate income and operating revenue, build assets and enhance the skills of new, existing and disadvantaged entrepreneurs;
• Encourage and support disadvantaged entrepreneurs to achieve self-sufficiency by providing business, financial, and technology services and training;
• Provide training, technical assistance, capacity building and networking activities to increase the survival rate of "start-up" and existing businesses, using Federal, State, foundation and private funding sources.

In order to receive services, you are required to sign up. There is no cost in signing up and a counselor will contact you to set up an appointment and/or to send you additional information on the services you requested.
