ECGC Women's Business Center offers several opportunities for business training. The WBC will also offer two basic training programs, including:
Basic Business Training Program (BBTP) is a 50-hour course which presents the essential tools and concepts for developing, growing, and managing a business. The BBTP is specifically designed for nascent and beginning entrepreneurs and will concentrate on four central topics for small business development, namely:
Business Success Keys: self-assessment tools, communication and selling skills, setting goals, and contingency planning
Management: business plan development, managerial/owner roles, problem-solving, organizational development, legal compliance, and time management
Financial/Economic Literacy: budgeting, basic bookkeeping, development and analysis of financial statements, 5 C's of Banking, "seed capital", and contingency plans
Marketing Analysis and Penetration: market research resources, market-penetration methods, pricing strategies, analyzing competition, and identifying customers
Advanced / Long Term Training is provided to the entrepreneur that needs assistance beyond the BBTP. Long term assistance will be provided on an individual basis and will be provided in the above listed categories beyond the BBTP course introduction.
Online training is also available through SBA in several topics from the "Small Business Primer" to "How to Write a Business Plan".
In order to receive services, you are required to sign up. There is no cost in signing up and a counselor will contact you to set up an appointment and/or to send you additional information on the services you requested.
